 Local Septembeard Team Starts for Kicks and Raises $1200 Toward Prostate Cancer Eradication
October 5, 2011 – Watson employees raised $1,215 dollars for Septembeard’s inaugural fundraising campaign. An organization whose goal is to eradicate prostate cancer, the second leading cause of death in men, Septembeard was founded in 2011 and allows donors to direct monies to one of six nationwide medical research and treatment organizations.  Watson Reduces PVC Content in Products
July 11, 2011 – Watson (www.watsonfurniture.com) announces a 25 percent reduction of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) use thanks to a new PVC desk edge thickness and the addition of a non-PVC, exposed medium density fiberboard edge. The launch of Watson’s ZO™ storage line in the Fall of 2010 introduced a 1.5mm thick edge band to the materials pallet. Positive feedback regarding edge performance prompted Watson to convert all edge banding for Watson Desking™ brand products from 2mm to 1.5mm. Full Story

 Watson Lights the Way with a 49% Electricity Reduction
May 11, 2011 – Watson has completed a lighting fixture upgrade that will reduce their annual electricity usage by 49 percent and total power consumption by 11percent - enough to power 15 average homes per year.The project to replace 426 lighting fixtures on Watson's manufacturing floor and within its administrative offices was made possible with the help of Puget Sound Energy, Energy Conservation Services, and North Coast Electric. – Watson Dispatch introduced its ZO Storage in fall 2010. Developed by Watson as a cross-platform storage offering, ZO provides much needed storage to console consumers. Combined with Watson Dispatch's Synergy console, ZO components provide space-saving file, wardrobe, locker and book solutions for comm centers. ZO components may be selected for height compatibility with consoles and desks, or in taller-than or shorter-than heights to vary the landscape. ZO is built from wood sourced within our Pacific Northwest region that is 100% recycled, industrial byproduct from local milling operations and 90-95% recycled content. Boards are finished with GREENGUARD-certified laminates. ZO's steel legs are made from 80% recycled materials.
